It was a quiet day for our market which traded within a range for most part. There was a surge in the indices around midday which took the Nifty briefly above 5300 but then it turned soft again and ended lower amid some choppiness. The RIL AGM did not provide much impetus as was expected. Sensex shut shop at 17570, down 45 points and Nifty at 5262, down 12 points from the previous close.
